Allie is the founder of North Shore doula and excited to be practicing in North and West Vancouver. She recognizes how important it is that a mother’s birthing team is cohesive and works together well which is why she is committed to developing relationships with North Shore midwives and doctors as it ensures everyone on the birthing team knows each other well and mom feels fully supported and comfortable asking questions and advocating, with her doula, for her preferential birth plan and experience.
Allie’s goal is to empower women to have positive birth experiences. She is always looking to expand her knowledge with continuing coursework and studies in birth and pregnancy related fields and classes. She hopes to attend the PATTCh Trauma and Birth Conference in Seattle in March and will be taking her CPR-HCP in February 2019. She is currently enrolled in a Childbirth Educator’s Certification course and hopes that she will be able to reach women who do not have the means to attend childbirth classes whether that is due to mobility, health, financial barriers or other reasons. She is committed to ensuring that prenatal education is accessible and easy to understand.
Allie has completed the Basics of Lactation Management for Doulas Complete certification as is required by DONA for certification, but would like to take more breastfeeding courses in the future and hopes to one day obtain IBCLC status.
Allie lives in North Vancouver with her husband, dog, and daughter, Margot.
